Democrats argue vehemently for terrorist’s rights

Today Republican’s in Congress passed a bill governing the treatment and trial of war on terror detainees held at Guantanamo Bay.

Democrats contend that the bill is unfair to the detainees.  Jerry Nadler, Democrat from New York indignantly argued: "This bill makes the President a dictator. The President wants to exist in a law free zone."

Dennis Kucinich, Democrat from Ohio pounded the podium as he stated: "The question is whether we will stand up for what this country was founded upon!"

One of the terrorists to whom the Democrats want to extend U. S. constitutional rights is Kalid Sheik Mohammed who is now held at Guantanamo. He was the mastermind of the 9/11 attacks that killed 3,000 of our citizens.  In addition, it is revealed in Pervez Mussharaf’s new book that Kalid personally beheaded reporter Danny Pearl and that Pearl’s body was found in 10 pieces.

160 Democrats voted against the bill which passed on a party line vote: 253 to 168.

How can the Democrats be trusted with the war on terror if they can’t even be tough on the terrorists themselves, who have brutally killed innocent American citizens?

Same old tactics!

Only 42 days until the November elections and the Democrats are pulling out all of the same old tricks.

They are playing the race card against Senator Allen, and going big now. The "macaca" issue isn’t enough, now they’ve gone to some of Allen’s college classmates and one has claimed that he used the "N" word. How many times do they have to dig up that one?

They’ve brought in the same old retired Democrat Generals to once again call for Rumsfeld to resign, accusing him of mishandling the War in Iraq. How many times has it been now?

They’ve leaked more classified information to the New York Times, claiming Bush has created more terrorists.  How many times have they put our country in danger by leaking information, just to win an election?

They’ve dusted off their hero, Bill Clinton, and he’s out wagging his finger again and saying that he would be fighting the terrorists in Afghanistan and he would be hunting Osama.  About time!

It’s getting down to the nitty gritty, and we don’t know what your plans are! Don’t give us that same old stuff!

Come on, Nancy Pelosi. Tell us what you will do as Speaker of the House!

Hey, Ted Kennedy, tell us about your plans for education!

Harry Reid, give us some details of your plans as Senate Majority Leader!

Carl Levin, tell us your plans for winning in Iraq, as Chairman of the Armed Services Committee!

Henry Waxman, Patrick Leahy, John Conyers, all of you powerful Democrats who want to be our new leaders. Tell us we can trust you, that you love America and that you want what is best for our country!  Tell us it's not all about getting your power back!

Why do I have this feeling that if you win we will be going back to the future?

Poor Bill!

According to him, the MSM along with the right wing conspiracy have done him in! They have conspired to make it seem that he didn’t do enough to combat terrorism. In addition, he states that the media has given Bush a pass on this issue!

Wow, maybe he’s spent too much time overseas criticizing our government to notice what is going on here in the U.S.

Earth to Bill....

Finger wagging Clinton strikes again!

I just saw the preview from Fox News Sunday where Clinton goes ballistic. We haven’t seen this Bill since "I did not have sex with that woman!"

Chris Wallace made an appearance on Weekend Live with Brian Wilson. He said that the interview with Clinton was set up to talk about his Global Initiative. The guidelines were established that they would talk for fifteen minutes on the Initiative, and then fifteen minutes on any other subject.

Wallace says that when the second half of the interview started, he said "We have gotten a lot of emails and people want to know why you didn’t go after Al Qaeda in your eight years, why didn’t you do more?"

Clinton points the famous finger, and in a wild eyed manner, leaning forward, face red, says: "But at least I tried! That’s the difference between me and some, including all of the right wingers that are attacking me now. They ridicule me for trying, they had eight months to try, they did not try. I tried, so I tried and failed!"

This is the most intelligent and eloquent man to have ever lived?

Wallace says that Clinton railed on and couldn’t be stopped. The interview lasts for twenty two minutes and runs unedited. I’ll be watching!!!!

Why can't some things be simple?

The fur was flying again on the floor of Congress as the Republicans introduced a bill that would require a picture I. D. in order to vote.

The Democrats, in their opposition, once again cried racism, Jim Crowism and every tired old term that has been trotted out for decades to make it seem as though the Republicans only want the wealthy and the educated people to vote.

Some of the speeches were downright laughable.  I wonder how much education some of our Congressmen/women have?

What could possibly be wrong with requiring a picture I. D. for voting?  That way you would keep people that are not eligible to vote, from voting, i.e. the dead, the felons, illegal aliens, multiple voters, grandma's cat, etc.

The bill finally passed along partisan lines.  Republicans aye, Democrats, nay.

If they can't agree on this one, will they ever agree on anything?

I don’t get it!

I keep hearing about the so called generic polls that say that the public trusts Republicans on the War and issues of National Security, and Democrats on everything else.

What is everything else?

Education: Democrats support the Teacher’s Unions that keep unqualified teachers in the classroom.  (I hope that you’ve seen John Stossel’s "Stupid in America.") They are against Vouchers, which would allow competition and would make our schools better.

Social Security: Democrats want to keep a system in place that is going bankrupt. They are against Private Accounts, which would allow citizens to keep a portion of their social security contributions in their own accounts where the government cannot spend their money.

Taxes: Democrats are for taxes on everything. They oppose tax cuts that help the economy and allow citizens to keep more of their own money.

Illegal Immigration: Democrats are for amnesty for all illegal aliens.

Health Care: Democrats are for Universal Health Care, and opposed to Individual Health Care Accounts which would promote competition and bring costs down.

My question is: Why would the public support Democrats on these so called "other issues?"

I feel much better now

This morning on the news I heard that in only two months, Kofi Annan will have to vacate his leadership post at the U.N. and move out of the multimillion dollar home provided for him.

This left me feeling very uneasy wondering who will be the new head of the U.N.?
Who could possibly fill Kofi's shoes?

Immediately following the stunning announcement of the loss of Kofi, I heard that George Clooney will be testifying before the influential body of leaders.  What a relief.  I am sure that he can point them in the right direction and give the moral leadership that they need to make the very important decisions that can impact the whole world.

Now I can go on with the rest of my day.

P. S.  It was amazing the cold shoulder that our President got at the U.N. yesterday, when he gave such an elegant and heartfelt speech about freedom around the world.  His words were met with smirks and very little applause.

Contrast that with the adoration that Clooney received.  Now do we understand the U.N. a little better?

A Tribute to the American Spirit

On this day before the anniversary of 9/11, I would like to recall some of the thoughts that I had on that horrible day as I was watching the news and, like everyone else, could hardly believe what I was seeing and hearing.

My first thought was that thousands upon thousands would die on that day.  When I realized that the Twin Towers, that had just been attacked, were filled with people who were already at work, I could only imagine the incredible death toll.

What accounted for the fact that the number of deaths were far less than expected? We hear of tragedies in other countries where people who are afraid of something will stampede and trample their fellow citizens resulting in hundreds of casualties.

If that had happened in New York on that day, there is no telling what the final number of deaths would have been. However, due to the incredible spirit that each American displayed, helping each other down hundreds of floors as they filed out slowly and carefully as to not hurt someone else. They were not running over each other to get into the elevators or to reach the stairwells. Throngs of people were walking slowly out of the buildings and continuing to walk in an organized fashion across the bridge and then for what seemed like miles down the road. If not for the courage and selflessness of those anonymous Americans a different story would have been written.

The American spirit was alive and well on 9/11.

How dare they?

There they go again.  The one note samba Democrats writing a letter requesting that Donald Rumsfeld resign.

As Rush says, the Democrats need to start winning some elections if they want to run things.  All they do now is attack people.  Let's see, they got rid of our Majority Leader, Trent Lott, over a silly remark at an old man's birthday party.  Then there was Tom Delay, our Majority Whip, who resigned due to a political indictment in Texas.  They took out two of our most influential leaders right there.  They sure tried to get Karl Rove, but didn't succeed, although they did a lot of damage to the President with this persecution.  Now they want Rumsfeld out, again.

My advice to the Democrats:  Quit attacking and realize you have to win in order to govern.  In order to win you have to have a few ideas.  Right now you don't have the right to appoint the Secretary of Defense.  So, get over it, Rumsfeld will be there for the next two years.

Illegal immigration - how should I vote on this issue?

I heard on the news this morning that Congress failed to pass a bill on illegal immigration. So, now this will be a big issue in the November elections.

I am going to try to use my teaching skills to focus in on this very controversial subject. I will attempt to simplify the matter for your consideration. As far as I can see the following are the main positions on the illegal immigration controversy.

Please check the number that describes your position:

______1. Build a wall and send every illegal immigrant home.

______2. Tighten the border and have a guest worker program that would match employers with workers where jobs are needed, on a temporary basis

______3. Grant complete amnesty to all illegal aliens and register them as Democrat voters.

Now place a check by the voting option that you think would best solve the problem:

______1. Do not vote.

______2. Vote for a third party.

______3. Write in a candidate’s name.

______4. Vote Republican

______5. Vote Democrat

I hope this will help you in your decision in November.   Thanks for your time!

Sandra Lea Wise

 P. S.  I know that feelings run very hot on this issue.  I was trying to point out which party might do something about the problem of illegal immigration.

The situation with illegals has been going on for many years, and it is not going to be easy to remedy the situation.  However, based on past records, the Democrat Party is the party of amnesty.  Democrats grow their voting base by having a whole new group of people on government programs.

What will the Democrats say about this?

The Associated Press reports that Al-saeedi, also known as Abu Rana, the No. 2 al-Qaida Leader in Iraq, was arrested in Iraq several days ago. "We believe that al-Qaida in Iraq suffers from a serious leadership crisis. Our troops have dealt a fatal and painful blow to this organization" said Iraq’s National Security Advisor."

What will the Democrats say about this? According to them we shouldn’t even be in Iraq.  They do not believe that Iraq is a front on the war on terror.  Where would Abu Rana be if he hadn’t been in Iraq? Organizing attacks on the U.S. perhaps?

Once again President Bush’s assertion, "We fight them there so that we don’t have to fight them here" proves to be correct. In Bush’s latest speech on Iraq he said that if we pull out of Iraq now, the terrorists will follow us home.

Do we really think that the Democrats can do a better job fighting terrorism, as they are claiming?

Pelosi and Dems to name new Secretary of Defense?

Let me count the times in which the Democrat leaders have called on Donald Rumsfeld to resign. There they go again. Pelosi and her gang will officially call on the Secretary of Defense to step down.

This latest cry for resignation is in response to the great remarks that Rumsfeld made this week in a speech at the American Legion. Something he said offended "soon to be Speaker Pelosi," as she was referred to by a democratic strategist today.

I began wondering. If the unthinkable happens and the "other side" does get control in November and they force Rumsfeld out, who will be his replacement? Remember they will have to confirm the nominee.  I shudder at that scene.  Any names come to mind?
