Are we safer today?

Governor Vilsack became the first Democrat Presidential candidate for 2008, when he threw his hat into the ring today. During his announcement he stated that we are not safer today than we were six years ago.

The Democrats keep saying that, but never justify the statement. What do they mean when they make that assertion?

We haven’t had another attack on our soil since 9/11. That is a fact that cannot be disputed. I’d like for someone to explain to me by what measure are we not safer today than we were six years ago?

If success in preventing further attacks is not the measure of success, then what is? Pray tell!

Violence explodes around the world as America is weakened.

I thought that the election of Democrat majorities was supposed to bring terrorist actions around the world to a sudden halt. I saw the terrorists applauding the elections. Weren’t they then supposed to lay down their arms and begin to talk to us?

What went wrong?

A divided America plus a weakened President equals the loss of hope for millions around the world to become democratic and peaceful nations.

The terrorists are now in control. Lebanon is on the verge of civil war once again, the death toll in Iraq over the last few days is astounding and the lack of stability in the region threatens all of the other nations there.

Geraldine Ferraro, Democrat consultant for Fox News and former candidate for Vice President, appeared on Fox this morning. She was asked what plans the Democrats have to solve the violence that has become much worse in Iraq since our elections and the Democrat’s victory. She hastened to point out that for the next two years, Bush will still be in control.

Of course, President Bush will continue to get all the blame, as our Commander in Chief, from the Democrats who have no plans for peace in Iraq except for a quick "redeployment" which is the new term for losing the war. Now we know why the terrorists were celebrating over our elections.

I pray that President Bush will be safe when he visits the Iraqi Prime Minister in Jordan next week, and then attends the NATO Summit. The anti Bush sentiment has reached new proportions around the globe. Why not? The anti Bush vote in our own country gave them hope that America will no longer be the strong leader it was after 9/11.

"Xmas"

I was out shopping yesterday and saw all of the Christmas decorations and sales. Wow! Is it that time already? We haven't even celebrated Thanksgiving yet.

I began thinking of our great nation which was founded on Christian values, and how those values are being attacked on a daily basis.  The liberal agenda is to remove every vestige of God from our society and with the years that they have had in power they have accomplished a great deal.

Lawsuits abound getting crosses off of public property, deleting "under God" from the "pledge of allegiance," promoting gay marriage, we all know the list.

A couple of years ago in the school where I teach, one of the teachers sent out an email asking everyone to bring Christmas carols to the Christmas Party and she would bring her guitar so we could sing.  She was reprimanded publicly for suggesting such a thing.  No Christmas carols were allowed and it was a Holiday party, not a Christmas Party!

For years we had so much fun singing carols!  The party has not been the same since because there are not many Christmas carols that don't have some of the "censored" words in them.

Now the liberals will have at least two more years to oppose Bush's judges and to continue to attack the core values upon which our society was founded.

I believe that if our nation turns it's back on God, that God will turn His back on our nation.

This Christmas season, let us unite and fall on our knees to pray that this great nation "under God" will continue to be blessed.

Bush could have turned the map red, as he did in Texas.

A couple of years ago Rush was talking about how Bush was in the process of beating the Democrats at their own game and that they would be in the minority for a long time. El Rushbo would jokingly say, "we can’t get rid of all of them, we need a few to remind us of who they are."

So, what went wrong?

When Bush became Governor of Texas by beating a popular Democrat incumbent, Ann Richards, he worked with the Democrats to get his agenda accomplished. Then when he was re- elected he brought in Republican majorities in the House and Senate. In the election in Texas last week we held the Governorship, the House and the Senate. Texas is still solidly red, thanks to Bush.

Why didn’t this happen in Washington? I am going to go out on a limb and suggest that the conservative media, Fox News, talk radio, conservative pundits and many conservative blogs were partially responsible for the losses that the Republican Party incurred.

Let me explain. We now know that the MSM is an arm of the Democrat party. They don’t even try to hide it anymore. The assault that they undertook on this president via books, movies, news reports and so on., never stopped. There was a brief intermission on and after 9/11, but of course that didn’t last.

On our side, the media tries to be " fair and balanced." The Conservative spokesmen feel that they need to criticize the President and Republicans in order to prove that they are not biased. Another problem is that the conservative media has to play to it's audience, the conservative base. The country at large is right of center, but not right of right.

During the last year leading up to the election, the only topics of conversation on the radio, the blogs, by conservative writers and talking heads, was everything that they thought Bush was doing wrong.  It started with the Harriet Miers nomination, then the Ports issue and finally immigration. There was no willingness on the part of the conservative media to compromise. It was their way or the highway. (They finally realized what was happening and changed course for the last couple of months before the election, but it was too late.)

When Bush’s poll numbers started tanking, the "cowardly" congressmen and senators pulled away from Bush’s agenda and began distancing themselves from him. I believe that if they had followed Bush’s lead and pushed for social security reform, immigration reform, led the way to more tax cuts, supported the war and Donald Rumsfeld, that they could not have been beaten.

I am currently reading many blogs and commentaries that opine that we did not get our message out. I think we did. The message was that we will not support our President and the Republicans if they do not do everything exactly the way we want it done.  No compromise any time, any place.

The voters got the message.

40 more years!

All is right in America again. The 12 year national nightmare is over! We taught those evil Republicans a lesson. They don’t belong in the majority. They are the minority party and let’s not ever let them forget that again.

Now we Democrats are back in our rightful position. We can have civility in Washington again.

The battle began when Newt became Speaker in 1994. We handed over the gavel and were all smiles but the knives came out. Newt was the leader of a "think tank" that taught young people about Republican values. That could not stand! We filed hundreds of complaints against him in the Congress. Then he had the audacity to write a book! We made him give back the advance payment from the editor and take $1.00 instead. Didn’t Newt know that only Democrats can write books and get large cash advances? What finally did him in, however, was that he had an "affair." So, he resigned. Didn’t he know that only Democrats can commit such sins and remain in government?

The Republican leadership had goals that were wrong for America. They wanted to allow people to keep more of their own money by giving tax cuts. Didn’t they know that the people’s money is rightfully ours to spend as we see fit?  We can even reinstate the House Bank and write checks anytime we need money without paying it back.

Another thing. Republicans wanted to protect children in the womb. How dare they try to stop partial birth abortions! Didn’t they know that it’s OK to kill unborn babies if the mother doesn’t want them?

Oh, and even worse, they wanted to allow people to utter the word "God" in our schools and maybe even pray! They wanted people to have the right to celebrate Easter and Christmas and other religious holidays in the public square. Didn’t they know that God must be kept out of our government and our society? Words such as "Merry Christmas" should never be uttered in schools or anywhere else for that matter. "Happy Holidays" is the replacement term.

There was much more. America was headed in the wrong direction under their leadership. I forgot to mention one of the worse things. They wanted to hunt down terrorists and kill them! Didn’t they know that terrorists have rights too, and that if we just talk to them they won’t want to kill us?

But now we are back in control where we belong. America will head in the right direction once again. The voters taught those evil Republicans a lesson.

Gone are bad people such as Rick Santoram, George Allen, JD Hayworth and many others. What a relief!  The Republicans must never again be the majority party. The media and the public know that they are wrong for America. Go Democrats!
40 more years! 40 more years! 40 more years!!!!!
